Program Coordinator

Our Program Coodinator reports directly to the Deputy Director. Activities include: program liaison and scheduling assistant, strategizing with staff leadership and the Board to broaden and diversify the volunteer base; supplying the monthly “wish list” to supporters; recruiting new volunteers and broadening their organizational activities, and maintaining all client, volunteer and donor records. The Program Coordinator is responsible for performing client intake; working with staff to develop Individualized Recovery Plans; counsel residents individually and in groups; monitor the whereabouts of the residents; dispense medication and maintain the medicine log book; perform urinalysis on residents as needed; and maintain resident records and database.

Volunteers

Mending Hearts has a well-developed volunteer base. Volunteers come in weekly to conduct mentoring sessions, life skills workshops, recovery discussion and 12-step groups and other programs to residents to assist with their recovery. Volunteers represent a key component of our cost savings (and income, as many volunteers also contribute financially).
